Thirty Second Sunday of Ordinary Time
In the Gospel this Sunday we hear the story of the widow's mite (two small coins worth about 4p today). The Lord wants us to learn from the widow how to be generous—how to give and not to worry about counting the cost.
And he doesn’t just mean our money. Sometimes we can be reluctant to share our time or our talents with others or for good causes. But the Lord tells us not to be afraid to be kind. He also wants us to know that God is never outdone in generosity. No matter how much we give to him or to others for his sake, God will always bless us richly in return.

NOVEMBER—MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS
As Catholics we mark the month of November as a special time of prayer for the dead. There are a
number of ways to participate this year:
November Dead Lists
November dead lists and envelopes are still available in the church. Please write down the name of your own deceased family and friends who you wish to pray for, pop them in the envelope and leave them back in the church at Mass time or through the door of the parochial house any time. You may wish to include a Mass offering and these are very gratefully received. Your lists will be placed before the altar for the month of November and all those included will be prayed for at every Mass and ceremony for the month.
If you’re not able to come to Mass at the moment just write down your list at home, put it in an envelope and get them posted or dropped in to the parochial house.
Latin Requiem Mass
A Traditional Latin Requiem Mass (1962 Missal) will be offered at 7.30pm on Monday November 22nd for all the Holy Souls in purgatory. It will be a fully sung Mass (Missa Cantata) with visiting musicians.
Remembering Deceased Parishioners
The names of parishioners who have died in the last year were remembered at Mass on All Souls’ Day last Tuesday. There will also be a short service of prayers on video later in the month.
Remembrance Sunday
Fr Damian will represent our parish at the Ballymoney remembrance service at the War Memorial next Sunday (14th) at 3pm.
GARDEN OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
If you would like to make a contribution to the cost of the garden of remembrance for babies who have died it would be much appreciated. Cheques or cash can be left at the parochial house (please mark on the envelope that they are for the Garden Appeal). You can also make a one off payment online to our bank account using the details on the opposite page.
We have currently raised £1985 towards our aim of £2500. This includes an incredibly generous donation of £1000. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.
ADVENT RETREAT AT DRUMALIS
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” is the theme of a retreat for Advent season with the
Drumalis Team and Fr Perry Gildea CM from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th December.
During this residential weekend of quiet and prayer at Drumalis Retreat and Conference Centre in Larne, we will reflect on the various ways that God comes to us, speaks to us, invites us and remains with us, especially during these days of pandemic.
